Servicing FAQs

The answers to the questions our aftersales teams are asked most often.

How often should I service my car?
As a general guide, most cars need a service every 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. Always follow your manufacturer's recommended schedule, as some models require interim checks. If you cover a high mileage or do mainly short journeys, more frequent servicing helps protect performance and reliability.
What is included in an MOT?
An MOT checks that your vehicle meets the legal minimum safety and environmental standards. Our approved testers inspect items such as lights, brakes, tyres, suspension, steering, seatbelts, the exhaust and emissions. You will receive a clear pass or fail certificate along with any advisories so you know exactly what to expect.
Do you offer collection and delivery?
Yes. Many of our dealerships offer a collection and delivery service so we can pick up your car, carry out the work and return it to you. Courtesy cars and a while-you-wait option are also available at selected stores. Let us know your preference when you book and we will confirm what is on offer at your chosen location.
Are your technicians manufacturer-trained?
Absolutely. Our technicians are manufacturer-trained and work to the same standards as the brands we represent, using the latest diagnostic tools and genuine parts. This means your vehicle is serviced correctly, your warranty is protected and your car retains its full service history.
Can I get a service plan?
Yes. A Marshall service plan lets you spread the cost of your servicing into fixed, manageable monthly payments, helping you budget and protecting you from future price rises. Plans can be tailored to your vehicle and mileage — speak to your local dealership to set one up.
